Elm Fork Nature Preserve

  • Features: One-mile dirt loop trail. Completely shaded, well-maintained. Passes by an old river bottom and a small pond. Map available at trailhead. On the other side of Elm Fork Drive, there is a short paved trail that leads to picnic tables.
  • Directions: Turn off I-35 onto Sandy Lake Road, and turn left into the McInnish Sports Complex. After the large pond, turn left onto Baseball St, then left onto Elm Fork Drive. There is a parking lot on the left marked with a sign.
  • Hours: Half hour before sunrise to half hour after sunset
  • Cost: Free
  • Tip: It's a peaceful and pretty place. There are a lot of spiderwebs, and the dirt trail is covered in wood chips. Sometimes special events are held there.
