Trinity River Audubon Center

• Features: 5 miles of nature trails in wetland, prairie, and forest ecosystems; birding opportunities; a conservation center that has a movie, displays of animals and land, and a gift store.

• Directions: Southeast of downtown Dallas. North of I-20 and south of 1-30, west of Murdock Road just off S Great Trinity Forest Way. 

• Hours: M-F 9 AM to 4 PM; Sat 7 AM to 3 PM; Sun 11 AM to 5 PM. 

• Cost: $6 per adult, $3 for ages 3 to 13. (In August, there's a special discount to get in for $1, and the third Thursday of the month is free admission for everyone.)

• Tips: Strollers still work on the dirt paths. Many people have weddings and other events here. The conservation center is air-conditioned! There are volunteer opportunities available.
